Me
My name is Kusumsiri Wijayaratna. I was born in Badulla, Sri Lanka. I'm the eldest in my family of two girls and a boy (I'm the boy). My father is no more and mother is a house wife. My wife is Damayanthi. We got our lovely daughter Tania in 2003.
My alma mater
School Education
I received my primary education from Uva College, Badulla. I was there upto ordinary level. Uva College is a famous boys school in the area.
I received my secondary education from Badulla Central College. To complete the secondary education I choosed mathematics stream.
University Education
I received my first degree B.Sc.(Physical Science) from the faculty of science University of Colombo in 1997.
The University of Colombo, Sri Lanka's oldest university, is located in the urban center of Colombo.
In year 2000, I received PGDE (Post Graduate Diploma in Education) from the faculty of education University of Colombo
and received my M.Sc. (Master of Science in Computer Science) degree from the University of Colombo School of
Computing (UCSC) in year 2006. UCSC is the leading institute in Computer Science and ICT in Sri Lanka.
Where do I serve my nation
At present I am working as a lecturer in Department of Computer Science and Technology in Uva-Wellassa University Sri Lanka. It is different from all the other universities, as it is designed to provide essential skills and broad general education for all students while providing conceptual & methodological background and the training necessary to obtain practical solutions for value addition of local agricultural and mineral resources of Sri Lanka.
Research Interests
Automatic Flood Warning and Informing System
This is fully automated computer based flood warning system for measure rainfall rate and issue warnings when rainfall can generate floods.There is a rain water collecting and counting unit, converters,
a database and a GUI. This is a platform independent system as it run on JVM and used MySQL.
